The OMPP/WOFP has harnessed the virtues of sports activities to promote a sustainable culture of peace through the implementation of sports events for peace, which has brought together nations from around the world, promoting values such as solidarity, peaceful dispute resolution, cessation of hostilities, ceasefire, messages of fraternity, among other good deeds.
Objectives
1.- DEVELOPMENT OF SPORTS ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS:
Allowing citizen participation in sports activities that are beneficial for their health and to promote at all times areas and attitudes of respect, gender equality and international peace.
2.- PROMOTION OF VALUES:
Promoting values such as tolerance, respect, teamwork, gender equality, and others within society at all times.
3.- STRATEGIC ALLIANCES:
As part of its main objectives at both national and international levels, the OMPP/WOFP seeks to generate strategic alliances that can increase the scope of action of all established sports events. Therefore, the participation and joint efforts of local authorities, public and private sector institutions, civil society, sports institutions, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and various International Organizations (IOs) are of utmost importance to achieve each and every one of these objectives.
4.- ACTIVITIES WITH ZERO TOLERANCE FOR DISCRIMINATION:
Defending at all times the dignity and human rights of all people at the international level, sports activities, regardless of the physical or social condition of individuals, should be governed by the principle of zero discrimination in all aspects.
Stages:
1.- IDENTIFICATION:
By promoting this type of actions and social activities, the OMPP/WOFP aims to generate a peace perspective through all possible scenarios using sports as a tool for change.
2.- PLANNING:
The Sports Program establishes optimal conditions to set objectives and parameters that will be reflected in national and international sporting events, always keeping in mind that the message that should be sent to the world will be “Fair Play”.
3.- PRIORITIZATION:
During the development of sporting activities, and through effective coordination with all different stakeholders involved, hundreds of people from all social sectors will be integrated to participate in these sporting activities, and in this way, to increase the reach and impact on society.
4.- PREPARATION:
At the moment the main objective of the program is achieved, a final evaluation will be created with all the recorded data, allowing for proper measurement of the impact of the sporting events, the efficiency of the processes, and the establishment of corrective actions, in addition to registering a knowledge base and indicators that help create new programs.
