“WOFP/OMPP Participates in the Diplomatic Celebration between Mexico and Côte d’Ivoire”
The World Peace Organization (WOFP/OMPP) had the honor of attending, as a guest of honor, the commemorative event for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the United Mexican States and the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire—a milestone symbolizing five decades of dialogue, international cooperation, and mutual understanding between both nations.

This significant gathering, organized by the Honorable Embassy of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire in Mexico, was held at the iconic Esperanza Iris Theater in Mexico City, a venue of immense historical and cultural value. The event brought together a distinguished audience, including members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Mexico, as well as H.E. Aníbal Gómez Toledo, Director General for Africa, Central Asia, and the Middle East of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), along with deputies, senators, media representatives, academics, and members of civil society. This diverse attendance reflects the broad institutional and social interest in strengthening bilateral ties between Mexico and Côte d’Ivoire.
The event served as an opportunity to recognize the strength of bilateral links and the progress achieved in political, cultural, educational, and economic cooperation. Over these fifty years, Mexico and Côte d’Ivoire have consolidated a relationship based on reciprocal respect, friendship between their peoples, and a shared commitment to the principles of international law, multilateralism, and the peaceful resolution of disputes.

The commemoration highlighted the importance of West Africa as a strategic region on the international stage, as well as the role of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire as a key actor in promoting stability, sustainable development, and regional integration across the African continent. Furthermore, it underscored Mexico’s interest in strengthening its presence and cooperation with African nations, fostering exchanges that contribute to mutual development and the building of more just and inclusive societies.
The participation of the WOFP/OMPP in this ceremony reaffirms its commitment to peace diplomacy, the rapprochement between nations, and the strengthening of international friendship. It also recognizes that such spaces for dialogue drive joint initiatives aimed at peace, international cooperation, and intercultural understanding—essential elements for addressing the global challenges of the 21st century.
The WOFP/OMPP extends its gratitude to H.E. Djérou Robert Ly, Ambassador of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire in Mexico, for the invitation to celebrate and recognize this important anniversary. We commend the governments and peoples of Mexico and Côte d’Ivoire for these fifty years of diplomatic relations and celebrate the continuity of a partnership that contributes to global dialogue, international cooperation, and the promotion of a culture of peace.
